What is the RABS?

RABS is the acronym for Bengenese Ráda je Bengéneske Spráge.

The Bengenese Language Council is the regulatory body of the Bengenese language. The RABS monitors and documents language uses, such as new words and expressions. It also determines the current spelling of Bengenese.

  • Monitoring how the Bengenese language is being used

  • Providing advice and information about Bengenese

  • Defining the official standard Bengenese orthography

Monitoring Bengenese

The RABS has a database with all the words that exist in Bengenese and is constantly updated.

Providing information

The Council carries out this task through its official website: rabs.org (this website). The RABS constantly publishes new entries on Bengenese matters.

Defining the orthography

The spelling of the Bengenese language has been in constant flux since its conception. It is the job of the RABS to disseminate and codify current spelling rules whenever changes occur.
